About MONL

What Is MONL?

The Maryland Organization of Nurse Leaders (MONL) is a non-profit organization established exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes. In existence for over 30 years, MONL began as the Society of Nurse Administrators, evolved into the Maryland Organization of Nurse Leaders, and ultimately merged with the Maryland Organization of Nurse Managers. Our membership consists of nurse leaders in a variety of key positions from across the state, representing most acute care hospitals and numerous other healthcare entities in Maryland.

Our members are experts in nursing administration, nursing advocacy, nursing policy, nursing position papers and white papers, professional nursing practive, nursing leadership and the Maryland nursing workforce.

When Does MONL Meet?

Meetings are held four times during the year (see Events for location and directions), from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Each gathering may include:

  • a buffet lunch or snacks and refreshments
  • an education session, and;
  • a business meeting.

A nominal charge of $50 for members, for each meeting, goes toward the cost of the hotel meeting room, food, and CEs.

We encourage non-members to attend the educational session for $100. Also, non-members may stay for the business meeting, but may not vote. All nursing and administration students are welcome to attend our meetings and are charged a reduced fee of $30, which goes toward the cost of the hotel meeting room, food, and any other related costs.
