Topic: Facing Our Current Reality: The Need for Radical Leadership!
The healthcare world today is going through rapid and tumultuous changes. It seems like every day there are new rules, regulations, policies and mandates; the demand for healthcare services is growing while there are shortages in many specialties. Technology and financial issues are playing a bigger role in day to day decisions; customer service and patient safety issues are receiving widespread national and media attention. In these challenging times, it isn’t enough for nurses to be excellent clinically; they must also be skillful in leadership, creating a positive and professional work environment where quality and safety are paramount. NEVER has strong leadership been more important than it is now. We need everyone on the leadership team, not just those in designated leadership positions. Webster’s dictionary defines “radical” as “extreme, favoring fundamental or extreme change, revolutionary;” that is what we need now--radical, courageous leadership. What does this look like and how to you do it? Come to this engaging presentation for some answers to these tough questions.
